Equilator
Introduction
Equilator provides the user with the following functions for the Poker variant Texas Hold'em:
- Calculating the probability of winning as well as calculating the equity for specific hands in a direct confrontation while considering the community cards and the mucked cards.
- Calculating the probability of winning as well as calculating the equity for specific handranges in a direct confrontation while considering the community cards and the mucked cards.
- Identification of a handrange which has the minimum equity against a specific opposing handrange.
Quickstart
- Installation
The installation starts with the help of the Equilator setup wizard. Normally it should be enough to confirm the standard settings. - Compare hands
In the main window at least two players must have been dealt cards. If you want to assign a particular handrange to an opposing player you have to click on the cards-symbol (1). If your opponent should get random cards just click on the cubes (2). To reset the cards of your opponent you have to click on the cross-symbol (3).

Now you can start the calculation by clicking on the button "equilate". The results will be shown in the "Overview" area.
Monte Carlo vs. Enumerate:
If there are many hands and many details respectively which have to be calculated it can take a long time if you use the method "enumerate". The "Monte Carlo" method reduces the amount of time which is needed for the calculation but it also raises the amount of mistakes which are made. Because these deviations are small they do not really matter in this case (Equilator). - Calculate a handrange considering the equity
Hereunto you have to assign a hand or handrange to your opponent. The procedure is similar to the one which has been described above. In the right window "Handrange Calculation"we can determine the minimum equity which our hand should have against the opposing handrange. You can start the calculation by clicking on the button "Range Calculation". Also in this case the results will be shown in the "Overview" area.
- Save/export results
Under "File" -> "Save settings..." you can save the settings of the actual simulation in a file.
To open and continue a saved simulation you click on "File" -> "Open Settings...".
You can also save the results of the simulation in a textfile by clicking on "File" -> "Export results". This can be useful if you want to discuss the results in our forum.
